Performance Coaching
Performance matters! From a leadership perspective, your ability to perform often means everything. Performance provides you with opportunities. Failure to perform frequently comes with negative consequences, such as the loss of opportunities or the inability to get a promotion. But how do you define performance? Many people take the performance-avoid perspective, where they attempt to avoid underperformance and incompetence. Others take the performance approach perspective. The performance approach occurs when you do everything possible to show competence and ability. With both perspectives, the outcome is all that matters. Our performance coaching program takes a different perspective.

Logos Leadership performance coaching takes a mastery perspective. Rather than focusing intently on the outcome, we take the mastery approach. We always want a good outcome. Sometimes, the good outcome doesn’t materialize for various reasons: lack of preparation, unintended occurrence, or plain old bad luck. Regardless of the outcome, we can take the perspective of continual learning and growth to master the issue. Failures are nothing more than data points that direct us toward improvement and mastery.
To perform, you must have a destination and a defined goal of what you want to achieve. Goal setting is an essential skill for performance. The Logos Leadership approach to performance provides several techniques to determine your performance goals. Your goals provide the target and enhance your ability to evaluate your progress and make the necessary in-course process adjustments. Thus, goal setting is the first step toward performance and achievement.
As a leader, the levels of catabolic and anabolic energies you bring to the workplace significantly affect your team and others in the organization. Think about a time when your leader was down, pessimistic, or angry. What impact did the leader’s emotions have on you? Leaders bringing catabolic energy levels reduce the team’s ability to be creative, find solutions, and move the organization forward. When the leader brings anabolic energy to the team, positivity, optimism, and the belief in a positive outcome, others begin to believe. Your ability to understand your energy levels and how to change from catabolic to anabolic forms of energy drastically impacts your opportunities for success.
Self-awareness is instrumental for understanding the energy you bring to your work, family, and close relationships. The Energy Leadership Index Assessment (ELI) forms the foundation for understanding your energy profile. Your energetic profile consists of seven levels ranging from primarily catabolic, where possibilities and opportunities are hidden from your view, to fully anabolic, where opportunities and possibilities abound. The ELI helps you understand and appreciate the energy we typically bring to the world. The Energy Leadership program provides the knowledge and insights to work with your current energy levels and raise them from the catabolic to anabolic energy ranges to help you realize your fullest potential.
The self-awareness module examines internal conditions such as understanding your strengths and weaknesses, goals, values, and ethical and moral beliefs. The modules discuss the importance of the awareness of reality and help the participants to develop the skills to see the situation. The self-awareness module explores the concept of emotional development and helps the participants create an action plan to enhance their emotional development to create emotionally intelligent responses to all situations.
Self-regulation refers to the ability to identify, control, and redirect disruptive emotions to act consistently with one's values towards valuable ends and to self-reflect, think, and suspend judgment before acting. The module provides skills and techniques to enhance the process of self-regulation and direct their responses toward positive outcomes.
Empathy involves the ability to understand and share the emotions of another and experience a situation from their perspective. Empathy bridges internal feelings and regulatory processes to the external social world. The module discusses the different types of empathetic responses, empathy enhancers, and empathy destroyers. The empathy module provides participants the insights to connect internal states effectively with external social conditions.
Social awareness involves understanding the context of the social situation and responding appropriately to the situation. The social awareness module provides strategies and techniques to develop an understanding of the characteristics of the situation and skills for effective listening to enable the social awareness process.
Social management describes the process of understanding the social context and reacting appropriately to that context. A significant portion of work processes occur in teams. The module discusses the conditions necessary to enable effective team emotional intelligence.
The Logos Leadership performance coaching program looks at ten essential disciplines that help you achieve performance mastery. One of the disciplines, Trusting the Process, proves critical to performance. Through trust in the process, outcomes that miss the mark become data points to learn, grow, and make the necessary adjustments that lead to success. Trusting the process and taking the learning, growth, and mastery orientation allows you to develop a second discipline – Confidence. Confidence reduces stress responses and opens your creativity and problem-solving capacity. Confidence increases your residence, allowing you to power through your less-than-perfect outcomes and continue learning and growing to master the issue. The Logos Leadership performance program provides the knowledge, skills, and insights to perform to your maximum potential.
The Performance Coaching program is offered in a team classroom setting or through individual one-on-one coaching. The team setting allows you to develop leadership capacity across your organization. The one-on-one coaching lets you dig into what makes you who you are. Through one-on-one coaching, you can identify the things holding you back, eliminate them, and identify where you need to learn and grow to achieve the life of your dreams.
